Experimental prints

The photographs shown here are a collection that was discovered in Moore's extensive archive in a box titled Stained Prints. It appears that the prints were made during the time Moore was working on a book titled Australia: Image of a Nation 1850-1950 (1983) as some of the photographs contain a part or whole of images published in the book. Moore has also used his own images and overlaid washes of chemicals to create mysterious effects.

Moore must have felt that these experiments were an important part of his archive as he always threw out what he felt to be worthless.
